The HPV vaccination helps protect against cancers, including cervical cancer, caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). It also helps protect against genital warts.

Almost everyone can have the HPV vaccine, including breastfeeding women. However it is not suitable for pregnant women.

It’s best to get vaccinated before you become sexually active, as this offers protection before any exposure to HPV. However, even if you have already had sex, you can still benefit from the vaccine and gain protection for your health.
